LOL. I have one of those giant purses. One really good use for them: carrying a one-volume edition of the Chronicles of Narnia. I’m taking a C.S. Lewis class, and I appreciate having a purse big enough to fit the book in so I can read while waiting when I’m out…not to mention I can use the spine of the book as a weapon if I’m attacked. It adds a sense of security to my life, so you may have something there with the “security blanket” comment.
As for high heels…I have a couple pair that hurt my feet, but they’re just so darn cute. It’s worth the pain. Crazy, I know, but what can I say?
